finally mr zm@)tek aka mr Z and his friend mrs. bizarre visited lisbon. knowing them for quite some time through flickr it was fun to meet them for dinner and for some expeditions into the lisbon nightlife during the weekend. the longawaited event took place when they finally made it to the salon on monday to have their hair cut.
mr Z decided to cut with inês, mrs. bizarre chose jezz.
mr Z who proofed quite some courage with his hair as documented on his flickrstream, seemed a bit tense when inês started to redesign his hair. yet, after a few minutes he obviously enjoyed the sophisticated techniques of his stylist and the relaxed atmosphere of the salon. Inês was very focused and quiet while developing the first steps of the design and soon one could imagine the outcome.
at the same time, after experiencing a nice hair wash with massage, lena was ready to rock with jezz. when they met for the first time at the dinner they immediately connected since both are into drawing , dance and expressive hairstyles.
as you can see jezz knew exactly what she wanted to achieve and mrs. bizarre seemed to be quite confident and enjoyed the service. step by step the sharp lines of the cut would lead to a new hair shape on lena’s head.

forever young – fearless and open minded
September 26th, 2008
over the last 10 years in the salon we have had all kinds of clients with various professional backgrounds and colourful biographies. this entry is a homage to all the ladies that inspire us with their style and attitude, their bravery and humor. in a rather small and traditional city like lisbon it’s quite something to live your own personal style, fearless and open minded. we adore these ladies and friends and hope to be like them in the near future – forever young and ready for new experiments.

WIP – hairport has a new team member

Sabine, the owner of the salon, gave birth to a wonderful little boy friday at 16:45, after more than 16 hours of struggle. Our new little mascot is called Emil, weights a bit more than 3 kgs and has three little blond hairs already. The poor boy will be spoiled because he automatically won dozens of aunts and uncles – all the hairport staff and the closest friends and customers. We wish you the best of luck, little boss
We are one happy family at the moment
meredith kitchen one of our clients in lisbon
September 17th, 2008

one of our regular clients and good friends meredith kitchen is playing and dancing in the show “cabaret” in the teatro maria matos in lisbon.
she was born in Adelaide and was travelling around the world participating in projects like “Compagnie Philippe Genty”. starting of as a dancer she never stopped improving her skills as an actor and singer.
full multitasking is needed anyway to handle all the turbulent situations your running into, living as an expatriot in lisbon with a small daughter and a german husband.
we are fan’s of her art, style and attitude. as a person she’s sophisticated, inspiring and with good humor and as a client she’s always a challenge.
the artist an the model
September 11th, 2008
some artists in our salon do have favorite models, that enjoy hair experiments. jezz for instance has this good looking friend, who is willing to undergo long hours of bleaching an coloring. very often jezz does designs in her sketch book and transfers them on to the heads of her clients. of course the challenge for both is to push the limits. as you can see they develop together a quite unique style for him and he pulls it of confidently.

haircut_contrast

inês did a very energetic and radical haircut.
the shaved shapes do correspond with the curly hair nicely, the volumes build different looks from all angles. one step further in the development of the perfect long short contrast haircut.
silvia is one of the forerunner of this style and did this fabulous cut just a short time ago. nothing for the mainstream but obviously something for strong individuals.
